Dubbed the “heart and soul of policing in Victoria”, Victoria Police Centre at 311 Spencer Street, Docklands is the 27th tallest building in Melbourne and the latest skyscraper to join the ever-expanding Melbourne skyline.
The building, which is connected to 313 Spencer Street by a series of bridges and pathways, is the workspace of 5300 staff across 26 commands and departments and officially opened in June 2020. Chief Commissioner Ashton said the facility was a big step in the force’s modernisation program and would “usher in an exciting new chapter for Victoria Police”.
mySmart was tasked with delivering a KNX solution for both base build and tenancy, spanning 43 storeys including four basement levels of end of trip facilities. With a net lettable area of 65,000m2, mySmart’s solution for 311 Spencer Street took 18 months to deliver.
Consisting of over 5000 KNX devices and incorporating the building’s lighting control and exit and emergency lighting, mySmart’s solution not only provides a futureproof solution for changes but also supports the Victorian Police achieve their target of a 4.5 Star NABERS Energy Rating & 5 Star Green Star Office Design.
