Project Description
The largest KNX project in the Southern Hemisphere and a finalist in the 2018 KNX Awards, Ravenhall Prison began construction in 2015 and was completed late 2017
Situated in Victoria and redefining the role of modern correctional management facilities, Ravenhall Prison has been built to cater for 1,300 male prisoners. It provides unprecedented levels of pre and post-release support by way of world-leading Continuum of Care services.
The future-proof design includes a 75-bed Forensic Mental Health Unit, 25-bed Close Supervision Unit as well as a state-of-the-art KNX installation to provide ultimate flexibility to changing needs and safe, effective management of prisoners.
mySmart were approached to design and deliver a cost effective and efficient KNX system and the result involved 301 DALI universes, 13,563 fittings and 5,273 units.
In 2018, mySmart was a finalist in the 2018 KNX Award for Best International Project – Africa, America and Australia for our work on Ravenhall Prison. mySmart is proud to be involved in this project, delivering the southern hemisphere’s largest KNX project for the second time.
