The world’s only truly open protocol endorsed by worldwide standards, KNX is regulated by the KNX Association based in Brussels and is supported by all of the world’s leading electrical manufacturers.
Today the market is flooded with new technologies and products from all parts of the globe. In some cases, these are neither supported nor conforming to International standards, let alone Australian standards.
Ensuring compliance to relevant standards, KNX requires all products to undergo stringent independent testing and verification before approval and KNX logo application is allowed.
In November 2017, Standards Australia adopted ISO/IEC 14543-3 (Parts 1-6) as an Australian Technical Specification. Covering Communication Layers – Network Based Control, this means projects can be specified for compliance whilst remaining open to over 8000 certified products from over 495 suppliers in 190 countries.
mySmart is proud to be an active member and advocate of KNX products and open protocol. Recognising the importance of supporting global standards and open protocols, mySmart is a foundation member of the KNX National Group.
As KNX celebrates its 30th birthday in 2020, mySmart continues to create and work on outstanding KNX projects across a diverse portfolio of projects. Recognised for our use of KNX technology and design, we won the prestigious KNX International Award for the Surf Coast Shire Civic Building in 2012 and were awarded KNX International nominee for ANZ Tower Sydney in 2014, Ravenhall Correctional Facility in 2018, and Calvary Adelaide Hospital in 2020.
