Sydney is the founding city - a Jaguar showroom in Rushcutters Bay in 2001, and 25 years of
projects since, across offices, hospitals, schools, cultural landmarks, and even a zoo.

Sydney is where mySmart started - a Jaguar showroom in Rushcutters Bay in 2001, and it's still
where the story runs deepest. Twenty-five years on, this is our biggest project pool by far, and
several of its landmark moments already have a home elsewhere on this site.
This page is about what's left: the corners, the eras and the names that haven't had their own
moment yet - a government wildlife office, a day spa, a zoo we've worked with for over two
decades, and a genuinely long list of names most Sydneysiders would recognise.
Already told in full elsewhere: ANZ Tower and Sydney Metro Stations on KNX, Doltone House and Parliament of NSW on C-Bus, Powerhouse Ultimo on Dynalite, the State Library and Sydney
Metro's emergency lighting again on DALI,
Shangri-La Sydney on GRMS, five projects on mySmart Sensors, and Museum of
Illusions on ZenControl. Sydney
Children's Hospital gets its moment on the Lighting Control page.

Our first office
16/1 Talavera Road, North Ryde - later reassigned as Macquarie Park as the suburb boundary
shifted, without us ever moving an inch. Home base from 2001 to 2022.

2002
National Parks and Wildlife Service, Hurstville
CTI is awarded the contract to supply and commission lighting control across NPWS's nine-floor
Hurstville head office, replacing conventional switching that was rarely turned off with local
zone control and a central processor handling after-hours timing - simple enough to need little
to no user training.
Since 2002
Taronga Zoo
One of the longest relationships on this entire site. Taronga Zoo appears on our client list as
early as 2002. By 2003, the "Backyard to Bush" precinct runs on CTI automation controlling
pathway lighting, heating lamps, pumps and filtration, and feature and exhibit lighting - with
preset "Day Zoo," "Night Zoo" and "Standby" modes triggered by a single button press. The system
moved to KNX and has been continuously maintained and expanded since 2013.

the room, though the exact system itself hasn't survived in the records.

The residential years
Long before the skyline became the story, CTI was fitting out luxury apartments and homes
across the North Shore and the beaches - lighting control, C-Bus, security, multi-room audio,
touch screens, CCTV, intercoms and louvre control. Wallaringa Mansions in Neutral Bay, Atlantis
in Manly, Cadigal in Bondi, Beau Monde in North Sydney, Le Virage in Bellevue Hill, Balmoral
Penthouse in Mosman - and, memorably, the Qantas Club First Class Lounge at Sydney Airport,
where shower and spa timing systems were tied to pagers and computers.

Australia's first Rasul
A very different kind of project - a traditional Arabian steam-cleansing treatment room on
Sydney's Northern Beaches, commissioned via Melbourne-based DRP Architects. CTI's system
controls a complex timing sequence across low-voltage downlights, fibre optic lighting, the
heater, the steamer, the showers and the audio system, with remote dial-in access for
adjustments after handover.
