Since August 1, 2001, mySmart has delivered a project to roughly one new address every single day. 25 years. 9,000+ addresses. 250 stories that show where we've been, where we are, and where we're going.
In 2001, a group of passionate technologists saw something the market was missing: buildings across Australia were becoming more complex, but the expertise to make them truly intelligent simply wasn't there. CTI Australia - Complete Technology Integrations was founded to change that.
The first project? A Jaguar showroom in Rushcutters Bay. From day one, the team were C-Bus integrators, building a reputation for technical depth and genuine partnership. A showroom opened at Macquarie Park in March 2002 - the same year Brad joined as the team's first technical hire. He's still with us today.
What began as a residential-focused business quickly found its calling in commercial spaces. As Australia's built environment transformed under NABERS and Green Star frameworks, mySmart grew with it - evolving from CTI Australia to mySmart CTI in 2012, and finally to mySmart Intelligent Environments in 2017. The name changed. The commitment didn't.
Today, with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth and a team of 60, mySmart delivers to roughly one new address every day. Since August 1, 2001, that's more than 9,000 buildings across Australia that we've smartened up - and the 250 projects on this page represent the stories that show where we've been, where we are, and where we're going.
When we started mySmart in 2001, it was just two people. Today we've grown to over 60 - with some of the original staff still here. We have people who joined as interns and are now in senior management positions.
Along the way, mySmart has delivered over 9,000 projects across Australia in just about every industry - commercial, transport, hospitality, health, prisons and education.
It's amazing how times have changed. Back in 2001, project drawings were supplied on a CD, printed on A0 printers, and counted manually with a clicker. Today it's all electronic - on-screen counting and no large format printer in sight.
Building technology has changed considerably over that time too. Many technologies have come and gone, and things like DALI - which didn't exist when we started - are now industry standard. KNX and LEDs are mainstream.
The future is exciting. With AI, we're developing industry-leading energy monitoring and remote management tools that will improve our processes and efficiency in ways we couldn't have imagined in 2001.
It makes you feel proud to see how a group of people can come together to build and grow a business - watching young people, fresh out of uni, come in and flourish in what can be a very daunting industry. Our technology is always changing, which offers our crew opportunities to expand, and I'm excited to see what the next chapter holds.
Lastly, to our clients - many of whom we are still working with after 25 years - this is the real testament to what mySmart does and how we do it. We never take any client for granted and appreciate the business each customer entrusts us with. So, thank you.
Since 2001, mySmart has delivered to more than 9,000 projects across Australia - roughly one every day. These 250 projects are a curated window into that work: the ones that show where we've been, the sectors we've shaped, and the buildings we're most proud of.

250 locations. 210 projects. Just about every sector you can think of - from primary schools and prisons to hotels, hospitals, sporting stadiums and defence facilities. If it's a building, we've probably made it smarter.

Every building is different. Every client's needs are different. What makes mySmart different is that we don't just deliver technology - we understand buildings. That means we can be whatever you need us to be, from a single solution to a fully integrated intelligent environment.
25 years of expertise. Ready for your next project.
